The members of the All-Star Squadron gather at the Perisphere for their first ever general meeting. During the meeting, Uncle Sam breaks in to request help from the All-Star’s to protect Earth-X, a parallel world. Sam reveals that he brought several heroes from Earth-2 to Earth-X already, but they all died, including former JSA member Hourman.
Just as the Squadron begins to vote on Sam’s proposal for assistance, Midnight breaks in on the meeting after having escaped from some Nazi soldiers. He passes out and the All-Star’s discover he is carrying Doll Man with him, who looks to be near death.
