Part 2: "Mind Over Mystery-Man"
Tarantula uses a new costume in this story, abandoning his old purple and yellow costume. The title of his book, Altered Egos:The Star-Spangled Super-Heroes of World War Two, is mentioned, for the first time.
This story, which takes place on February 10, 1942 is continued from All-Star Squadron #23 and continues in All-Star Squadron #25.
Synopsis:
Ultra’s minions capture Chuck Grayson, so that he can transplant Ultra’s brain into Robotman’s body. To demonstrate his power Ultra then sabotages the Normandie. Johnny Quick is injured while trying to save lives.
Several other All-Star’s regroup at the Perisphere. Tarantula arrives in a new costume after encounter Brainwave Jr. from the future. Atom brings Ultra’s hired hand Amazing-Man back from Dr. Fate’s tower. He breaks his bonds and stands off against the All-Star’s, while Ultra plots to assemble a new group of minions.
