Comments:
This story is continued from Checkmate #27.
Synopsis:
Harry Stein is taken into custody while his son undergoes surgery. Sarge Steel brings Stein to face the consequences for breaking Jacques Reynard out of Checkmate custody. Meanwhile, Reynard resumes his activities as Bishop and breaks Mazarin out of a French prison.
Elsewhere, Checkmate agent John Reed tangles with Flowers who gains possession of a microchip. Flowers escapes and delivers the chip to Victor Cypher.
