Comments:
This story is continued from Arion, Lord of Atlantis #4.
Arion learns that he and Garn Daanuth are brothers in this story.
This story indicates that Arion's previous life as Ahri'ahn took place 10,000 years earlier. However, Arion, Lord of Atlantis #4 indicates that it was 100,000 years prior. Also this story shows that Arion was aware that Caculha was his father after his rebirth, yet he did not know it in Arion, Lord of Atlantis #4. Due to these discrepancies it shall be assumed that these details in this story are erroneous.
Synopsis:
While Arion is helplessly chained in the dungeons below Atlantis, Garn Daanuth plans to watch the death of Caculha. Using the last of his strength, the old man is able to escape in astral form while Garn murders his physical one. Caculha is then able to direct light into Arion's dungeon cell which is the source of his son's power. Arion then frees himself from imprisonment.
Arion confronts Garn. Although weakened he manages to trap his nemesis in threads of magic. Caculha's spirit returns and passes a message to Arion before expiring. He bequeaths Arion his citadel in the Darkworld, then reveals that Garn and Arion are brothers. Arion uses the last of his magical strength to give his father eternal rest.
Garn frees himself from Arion's spell and sends his warriors to recapture his brother. Arion is able to break his friends out of their cage. Together the group escapes the City of the Golden Gate and flees into the wilderness. Arion regains his magic and uses it to thwart the pursuit of Garn's jackal warriors. Garn's grip on Atlantis is still strong, so D'Tilluh is forced into temporary exile from his kingdom.
