History:
145,000 years ago, Caculha and Majistra, sorcerers of ancient Atlantis, had two sons, Ahri'ahn and Garn. Caculha, follower of the Light, raised Ahri'ahn, while Majistra took Garn under her care and taught him her dark sorcery. Not for 100,000 years would Garn and Ahri'ahn learn that they were brothers with the same parents.
Seeking to gain vast mystical power, Majistra magically extracted the buried Twelve Crystals of the Zodiac, thereby triggering a cataclysm that threatened to destroy Atlantis. Garn was assisting his mother in her attempt to use the crystals when Caculha and Ahri'ahn appeared. Ahri'ahn sacrificed himself to disrupt Majistra's control of the crystals, thereby destroying her and averting the cataclysm. As a result of his sacrifice, Ahri'ahn turned into pure energy. Caculha was exiled to the other-dimensional Darkworld, and Garn's body was drained of all color. From the Darkworld, Caculha formed Ahri'ahn's life energy into a sphere and sent it into outer space. Garn vowed vengeance on Ahri'ahn.
Over the next 100,000 years the adult but ever-youthful Garn mastered dark sorcery and succeeded his mother as leading sorcerer of Mu. At the end of that time Caculha returned Ahri'ahn to Earth, where he regained human form and became known as Arion, Lord High Mage of Atlantis. Seeking to destroy his brother and conquer all of Atlantis, Garn clashed with Arion repeatedly. Garn destroyed Caculha's physical form before learning that Caculha was his father. In on of his encounters with Arion, scars were magically seared onto the left side of Garn's face. Garn is also responsible for the destruction of Khe-Wannantu, the homeland of Arion's ally Wyynde.
Unable to prevent the sinking of Atlantis, Garn placed himself in suspended animation within mystic amber. Recently awakening, and looking like an old, wizened man, Garn triggered seismic disturbances in trying to raise the now-sunken original city of Atlantis. The Justice League of America thwarted Garn's plans, and Garn apparently died in the collapse of the ancient city's ruins.
Powers:
In his prime Garn Daanuth possessed seemingly unlimited magical power. He could fly, hurt tremendously powerful bolts of mystical energy, engage in astral projection, control the minds of others, and perform many other kinds of magical feats.
Although in his prime Garn Daanuth was in fine physical condition, he used his mystical powers in battle rather than engaging in hand-to-hand combat.
