Comments:
This story is an untold tale. The flashback sequence takes place when Jimmy first came to Metropolis. He then travels back in time and meets Kal-El on Krypton just prior to its destruction.
Krypto is shown returning to Krypton in a rocket from a test flight of Kal-El’s rocket. There is insufficient time given in this story for Krypto to have been sent back into space as Krypton blows up. Since Krypto must have been sent into space again, more time must have elapsed between events in this story.
Synopsis:
Jimmy Olsen recalls the time when he first came to Metropolis. He was hired by Professor Crane to test a time machine. In doing so, Jimmy was transported to Krypton, before its destruction. Krypton’s atmospheric conditions caused Jimmy to wear a flying suit to move around.
On Krypton he met Jor-El and Lara, as well as baby Kal-El. Jimmy served as Kal-El’s babysitter, and kept him out of trouble.
Before Krypton exploded, Jimmy was returned to his own time. His memory of the experience vanished and was forced to look for work. Superman arrived to get Jimmy a job at the Daily Planet. Superman’s super-memory allowed him to remember Jimmy as his babysitter. Superman makes Jimmy his pal and gives him a signal watch.
