Synopsis:
James Smirt suggests an idea to Lois Lane that Superman should write an autobiography. Lois convinces Superman to write the story to be serialized in the Daily Planet. The first installment appears containing details about his capture of a crook when he was Superboy. Later that day, Martin Hagers comes forward claiming to be the real crook, explaining that Superboy captured an innocent man.
The following day another installment appears in the Daily Planet. Afterwards another man comes forward claiming to be the leader of a gang that Superman let get away. Superman is puzzled by the sudden confessions. He writes a third installment, then visits the one man who could discredit his story, Dr. Ross.
Ross is approached by Smirt's men and ordered to make a false confession. They hold his brother hostage. Superman, in the guise of Clark Kent, is also taken prisoner to an abandoned mine. He also finds other hostages who are the sons of the previous confessors. Superman rescues the hostages and exposes the plot to discredit him with the false confessions.
