Synopsis:
Arion, Chian, and Mara return to the land of the Khe-Wannantu. Arion seeks the aid of the shaman Moonstalker to help in his inner struggle against Garn Daanuth. When the trio arrives they soon learn that Wyynde has gotten married to Fawndancer. Mara is upset and flees into the village. Chian follows her while Arion meets with Moonstalker.
The shaman tries to aid Arion by forcing him to search inside himself for Garn and confront him. However, Garn's power is able to penetrate into the real world causing chaos in the village. Arion continues his struggle while Chian returns with reports of trouble outside. Arion attempts to use his limited magic to create illusion which will calm the mob outside. In so doing, Garn is able to gain control and finally free himself from Arion's body.
