This story continues in Arion, Lord of Atlantis #4.
Synopsis:
The armies of Thamuz assault the city of Atlantis. Arion uses his magic to defend the city, but he also tries not to kill the attackers since they were once allies. The battle is soon joined by Lady Chian and Wyynde who are returning from the wasteland. The defenders successfully fight off the attack and return to the palace to compare notes.
Arion is introduced to Mara, a refugee from Thamuz in possession of a crystal ram's head. The mage senses that the crystal is alive. When he magically probes it, a demon named Aries is released. Arion and his companions battle the creature until the unexpected arrival of Garn Daanuth. The sorcerer of Mu admits to his part in the attack by Thamuz, but he aids Arion in returning Aries to the crystal prison in which the creature had been held. When the threat is over, Garn strikes at Arion from behind.
