Comments:
This story is continued from Legion of Super-Heroes #48 and continues in Legion of Super-Heroes #50.
Synopsis:
Brainiac 5 continues his experiments in an attempt to make time travel possible once again. Sensor Girl exposes the conspiracy within the Legion which Brainiac 5, Saturn Girl, Mon-El, and reserve member Duo Damsel are involved. The foursome admit that they made a pact after the death of Superboy to get the Time Trapper at any cost.
Suddenly, all the Legionnaires collapse in pain. The source of the pain is their flight rings which Starfinger is using to target them. After several moments the Legionnaires recover. Starfinger is angry that the Legionnaires are still alive. He blames Doctor Hazeg who created the weapon. After giving Hazeg one more chance, Starfinger plans to kill the scientist and discovers that the doctor is Colossal Boy in disguise. He also exposes Chameleon Boy who had independantly infiltrated Starfinger's organization. With both the Legionnaires now his prisoners, he plans to use them to destroy the Legion.
Back on Earth, Brainiac 5 gives up on his experiments, conceding that time travel is impossible. He is interrupted by the entrance of Rond Vidar who has been thought to be long dead.
