Synopsis:
In the port city of Bakwele, Travis Morgan engages in a bar room brawl. While waiting for the fight to finish, Mariah and Machiste swap stories of their previous adventures. Machiste tells Mariah about a time shortly after escaping from the gladiator school, when Morgan was first putting together his army. A young boy wanted to join, but Morgan tried to keep him out of the fighting. When the boy was attacked by a dinosaur, Morgan and Machiste helped him fight it off. Feeling that the boy proved himself, Morgan makes the boy, Aton, his herald. He gives him a mission to spread the word of justice and freedom for all men.
Mariah then spins a tale which takes places immediately after her arrival in Skartaris. She and Morgan spotted a unicorn. Then a trio of barbarian savages attacked it. Angered, Morgan charged into the men and killed them. After the fight he cried over the corpse of the dead unicorn. Mariah and Machiste often find Morgan's mix of savagery and compassion to be confusing. Having finished his fight, Morgan joins them for a drink.
