This story is continued in part from Legends #4 and continues in Adventures of Superman #426.
Synopsis:
While Lois Lane conducts an interview with G. Gordon Godfrey, Clark Kent is transported to Apokolips by Darkseid's Omega Beams. Clark attempts to maintain his disguise and pretend that he is not Superman. Darkseid plays along and tosses Kent into the pits of Apokolips where the Hunger Dogs steal his outer clothing.
Superman dresses in rags to conceal his true identity from Darkseid's Parademons patroling the skies. When he sees a rebel about to be executed, he involves himself at the risk of exposing his identity. Superman is then confronted by Pacifier, an armored warrior creature. During their battle Superman and his opponent fall into one of the fire-pits.
