Synopsis:
Lois Lane joins an archaeological expedition in South America. Dr. Estevez, the leader of the group, has discovered a cache of technology believed to pre-date mankind. When communication with the expedition is lost, Perry White sends Clark Kent to investigate.
Clark flies to South America and locates the expedition. Nothing appears out of the ordinary, so he joins the team after convincing Lois that he will not steal her story. Lois, Clark, and Estevez then enter a buried structure. Estevez inserts a key into one of the machines in the structure which activates a creature, bringing it to life.
The creature, which has been wrapped in bandages by the ancient people, attacks. Clark gets the others to safety, then seals himself inside so that he can fight without exposing his secret identity. After a fierce battle, Superman is knocked unconscious by the creature.
