Synopsis:
Superman travels to Gay City where the townspeople have suddenly become brittle as glass. After saving some from deadly collisions, Superman visits Commissioner Stanley who tips him off to Gargoyle Towers, the suspected source of the malady.
The building turns out to be a trap, but Superman locates another building which seems to be emitting invisible rays from within. While Superman visits the building and finds an evil scientist, Kotzoff, Lois Lane arrives in town and is affected by the malady as well. Superman forces the scientist and his associates to turn over the antidote, which he uses to help Lois. Then he returns to look for the Commissioner.
Stanley attempts to escape by plane, but the Man of Steel brings him down. Superman is then doused with Kotzoff’s gas which knocks him out, and the police take him into custody. When he revives, Superman breaks out, captures the crooks, forcing them to confess, and spreads the antidote throughout town.
