Comments:
The chronological placement of this story in the overall DC Universe is problematic for a few of reasons, notably the appearances of Negative Woman, Starfire, and Firestorm.
Following the original Invasion, the negative energy being left Valentina Vostok and merged with Larry Trainor and Eleanor Poole to form Rebis. Therefore Valentina's appearance as Negative Woman places these events prior to Doom Patrol #19.
Starfire was in space with the Titans during the original Invasion. She did not return to Earth until New Titans #55 which was published after this issue. Therefore the events of New Titans #55 must take place far earlier in order for Starfire to be back on Earth for this story.
Firestorm was not able to reform for some time after the cure for the meta-gene bomb was delivered. After he did reform, his appearance was significantly changed which is not reflected in this story. Therefore it is possible that the character who appears to be Firestorm in this story is an imposter. This could be the same imposter who attended the Justice League recruitment party in Justice League International #24. The identity of this imposter (or even acknowledgement that it isn't the real Firestorm) has never been revealed. It is likely that this story takes place around the same time as the Justice League party.
Synopsis:
Following the Invasion event, the humans who were captured by the aliens for experimentation return to their normal lives. However, each of them has difficulty adjusting. Moshe Levy returns to school, but he is expelled for using his powers. Snapper Carr has a psychological breakdown. Fritz Klein is fired from his job after losing control of his powers. Dexter Fairfax suffers from writer's block and is unable to finish his manuscript. Carlotta Rivera has little control over her powers and avoids human contact. She hopes that the rogue Dominator named Gunther will find a cure for her. Grifter Amos Munroe finds that his powers make his lifestyle less of a challenge and is bored.
When Snapper Carr uses his power again, he teleports onto the ship of the Omega Men. He releases a female named Churl Jenkins. They leave the Omega Men stranded and take the ship. When they get back to Earth, Snapper begins recruiting the other former prisoners. They form a team called the Blasters. Together they defeat alien agents of the Spider Guild operating on Earth. After the battle, they elect to stay together seeking adventure in outer space.
