Synopsis:
Eric and Linda are both haunted by nightmare visions, but neither is willing to tell the other what they see. They decide to combine into Doctor Fate, so they can communicate without words. Eric has been seeing visions of his dead mother that he adored. She killed herself to escape her husband Henry, who later married Linda, before he too died. Linda is haunted by Henry's ghost.
To end the visions, Doctor Fate travels to the underworld where they find Henry's spirit. He explains that he needs Eric's hatred in order to pass on to the next world. Eric has long denied his father and blocked him out, so Henry sent both Eric and Linda the visions. Henry provokes Eric into releasing his feelings of hatred and love. This allows Henry to move forward. Eric and Linda are also able to resolve some of their own feelings about their past.
