Synopsis:
Sorcerer Felix Faust schemes to release from their imprisonment three ancient demons, Abnegazar, Rath, and Ghast, who ruled the world before the dawn of man, but who were defeated by the benevolent aliens known as the Timeless Ones. To do this, he must procure three mystic objects – the Red Jar of Calythos, the Green Bell of Uthool, and the Silver Wheel of Nyorlath. Conjuring up the spirits of the imprisoned demons, Faust attains a means of forcing the Justice League of America to do his bidding.
The heroes are teleported away from their battle with the Lord of Time, who has unleashed warriors of the past and future on the present-day world. Superman, Wonder Woman, and Green Arrow battle a musical mystic guardian to obtain the Red Jar, while the Flash, J’onn J’onzz, and Batman fight spirits of earth, air, fire, and water which guard the Green Bell, and Green Lantern, Aquaman, and Snapper encounter a lightning-beng in quest of the Silver Wheel.
Before Faust can free the demons, however, he is halted by the interventions of Aquaman’s mentally commanded fish allies, and his spell over the League is broken. However, Faust’s incantations have set in motion forces that will cause the release of the demons 100 years in the future.
