Synopsis:
Blue Beetle returns to Chicago where he discovers that his work at Kord Industries has been piling up. Unwilling to do the work, Ted visits the police station to follow up on a missing persons case. He learns that Lt. Fisher has taken a vacation and suspects that the detective is headed to Pago Island.
Ted's suspicions are correct. Fisher has hired Josiah Sledge and his crew to take him to the island. Sledge plans to leave Fisher on the island, but his ship is thrown onto the island by an unseen force. The crew members are then killed.
Ted decides to make his own voyage to Pago Island to find Fisher. He discovers the dead bodies, but Fisher's is not among them. He tracks the police detective to a cave where the men are attacked by an armored foe, Carapax.
