Synopsis:
Arion, Chian, and Mara return to home after leaving Wyynde who has stayed with his people. Their flying craft is shot down by a fireball. Chian guides the ship to the ground in the city of Mu which was thought to be abandoned. Instead the trio find a group of cutthroats living in the city. They are soon attacked, but Arion uses an illusion created by magic to scare the attackers away.
Arion and his friends then encounter a priest named Trykhun. The holy man guides them to a temple to find refuge. Mara does not trust the priest, who leads Arion to a hidden chamber beneath the main audience chamber. Arion is then attacked by a group of rodents and a giant serpent. Mara tries to warn Chian, but she is unable to locate the warrior. The girl returns to the audience chamber instead where she discovers Trykhun's true identity is Chaon.
