Comments:
This story is continued from Arion, Lord of Atlantis #9.
Synopsis:
Arion has been spelled by the ice queen Icestarr. He is taken back to her home at the top of the world. There, Arion learns that long ago a sorcerer cursed Icestarr by making her the keeper of a frost giant. The giant, imprisoned in a giant red gem, draws energy from the sun and weakens it. Icestarr is able to absorb the energy which grants her immortality, but is in the process of causing an ice age on Earth.
When Chian follows Arion, she soon learns that the mage was only faking his submission to Icestarr. He and Chian then convince the ice queen with their love to abandon her curse and allow the sun to be restored. In so doing, Icestarr dies, the frost giant is released, and Arion's own magic is diminished. Despite his loss of power, he uses Chian sword to slay the frost giant. With the curse broken the ice which threatened Atlantis is pushed back.
