Synopsis:
Brainiac comes to Earth prepared with a trap for the Man of Steel. Supergirl meets Brainiac's challenge, but she is unable to penetrate the force-shield surrounding Brainiac's ship. While dealing with Supergirl, Brainiac becomes annoyed that Superman has failed to show up. Since Superman is away on a space mission, Brainiac decides to spring his trap on Supergirl instead.

Brainiac captures Supergirl in a cage made of Kryptonite. He then notices Superman returning from his mission. Brainiac then disintegrates the cage and Supergirl before her cousin can arrive. However since the cage was built for Superman, Supergirl is able to slip between the bars and escape annihilation. Brainiac escape by transporting himself back in time, but his plot is ruined.
