Comments:
Jimmy uses Lana's biogenetic ring in this story.
Synopsis:
While Superman is away on a mission in space, a criminal mastermind known as the Bug uses giant mechanical insects for a series of crimes. Lana Lang gives Jimmy her biogenetic ring which she uses to become Insect Queen. Jimmy uses the ring along with a damaged recording of the Bug's plans in an attempt to stop the villain.
Jimmy's first two encounters with the Bug end in failure, as he makes mistakes in guessing the Bug's plan. When the Bug strikes a third time it appears that Jimmy becomes a ladybug to stop him. The Bug had planned for Jimmy's interference and has set a trap for him. Fortunately the Jimmy ladybug is really Supergirl in disguise. She outwits and captures the Bug. Lana and Supergirl get credit for the arrest, while Jimmy gets the story for the Daily Planet.
