Synopsis:
Lois Lane has been accused of killing Lana Lang. In court, Superman acts as the prosecutor while Batman serves as Lois's defense attorney. Several witnesses testify against Lois. A lie detector exam performed by Superman shows that Lois is lying when she claims innocence. After both sides make their case, the jury deliberates.
When the jury returns, the judge is prepared to read the verdict. Batman then interrupts by producing Lana's dead body. He shows the court that she is not the real Lana, but is instead an android duplicate. Superman tracks down the aliens who created the android as part of their alien chess match. He rescues the real Lana. Since Lana is not dead, the judge dismisses the case and tears up the jury's verdict without ever revealing what it was.
