Synopsis:
Ray Palmer makes a presentation of a new physics theory to a board of university professors. Professor Horace McByrd tries to discredit Ray's theory. When Ray prepares to present evidence, he hears a tiny insect noise, then forgets what he was about to say. As a result, Ray is dismissed.
Angry, Ray retreated to a microscopic world to fight hostile monsters and clear his head. He then returns to the lab to find Hap Coogan, a student, searching his lab. Coogan accuses Ray of being a traitor before being restrained. Before Hap can explain, an insect noise is heard. Coogan then forgets everything.
Suspicious of the insect noise, Ray reduces himself to tiny size. The Atom discovers a tiny machine flying in the air. He follows the device to Professor McByrd, who admits to creating the device and trying to discredit Palmer. The Atom subdues the professor and forces him to see the error of his jealous ways.
