This story continues in the first story of Action Comics #381.

Synopsis:
Members of the Superman Revenge Squad known as the Liquidators visit Earth and expose Superman to Red Kryptonite. They then cause several acts of vandalism around the world including defacing Mount Rushmore. Superman is blamed for the disasters because of evidence found at the scenes.

Superman visits his Fortress where he meets Supergirl. She tests him for Red Kryptonite, but tells him there is no trace of it. After Superman leaves, Dorx removes her Supergirl disguise.

As a result of the real effects of the Red Kryptonite, Superman's conscience bothers him. He then writes a series of confessions to the vandalism crimes despite having no memory of committing them. Finally he returns to the Fortress where he intends to expose himself to Gold Kryptonite.
