This story is continued from the first story of Action Comics #365.

Synopsis:
Superman, suffering from the deadly Virus X, plunges into the distant sun Flammbron. The living flame creatures inside the sun protect the weakened Man of Steel from destruction. They then show him that he has been cured of the Kryptonian leprosy which was killing him. Superman realizes that the white kryptonite thrown at his rocket by the Bizarros killed the virus because it was a form of plant life.

Superman returns to Earth and is surprised that the world is not mourning him. He discovers that someone else has been posing as Superman. His initial attempts to learn this person's identity fail, but he eventually realizes that his Justice League friends are responsible. Superman meets them at the Secret Sanctuary and announces his return.
