Synopsis:
Lois Lane schemes with Lana Lang to get Star City to repeal their death penalty law. Lois leaves Lana on an island, then plants circumstancial evidence indicating that she shot Lana. Lois is convicted and scheduled for execution, but Lana never returns from the island to prove Lois is innocent.

Superman searches for her, but the island is empty. He builds a Lana robot to make Lois think Lana has returned. Lois’s reaction to the robot convinces the governor that Lois is innocent, so he issues a pardon. Lana eventually turns up in the care of Lori Lemaris, who rescued Lana from a storm.
