Synopsis:
Jimmy Olsen gets an exclusive interview with Captain Bowlin, the owner of a small island., after saving the man's life. Bowlin explains that he witnessed the island rise from the ocean and claimed it as his own. Bowlin soon dies and bequeaths the island to Jimmy.
Jimmy visits the island with the staff of the Daily Planet. Jimmy finds a cave with gold treasure inside. He believes the island must have originally sunk hundreds of years ago. Jimmy's wealth suddenly goes to his head, and he orders everyone off his island.
When Superman returns from a space mission, Jimmy warns him away from the island, using Green Kryptonite. After Superman leaves, an alien rises from the ocean. The alien explains that the island was a trap for Superman and that he was really Captain Bowlin. Jimmy already knew about the trap when he realized the gold in the cave was Gold Kryptonite. Jimmy only pretended arrogance to trick the alien into exposing himself. Superman returns and apprehends the alien, while Jimmy disposes of the Gold Kryptonite.
