The Fear Machine, Part VI

This story is continued from Hellblazer #18 and continues in part in Hellblazer #20.

Sandman #3 takes place between pages 17 and 18 of this story.

Synopsis:
John saves the life of Simon Hughes, a journalist investigating Geotroniks. They compare notes before John is sidetracked for by Morpheus. When he returns, they attend the funeral of Geoff Talbot's wife. Talbot joins the investigation. On the subway tracks, John is accosted by a homeless man who hands him a piece of paper before jumping into the path of a train. The paper has a symbol on it which Hughes recognizes as belonging to the man who tried to kill him.

Meanwhile, Mercury continues using her psychic powers to remove the fears of various individuals. She discovers that the fears are being placed in a trap where they are growing.
