Synopsis:
John Constantine is haunted by songs about dreams. Mad Hettie, a two hundread and forty seven year old bag lady, warns John that Morpheus has returned. A couple of days later, the Sandman appears on John's doorstep looking for his stolen pouch of magic sand. John leads Morpheus to a storage facility in search of the pouch. There, he realizes that his ex-girlfriend Rachel must have stolen it.
John's friend Chas drives the duo to the house of Rachel's father. Dream senses the pouch inside. Rachel has found a way to open the pouch and has been using it as a drug. The dreams contained within have gotten loose. Their influence has left a burglar in a coma and transformed Rachel's father into a slimy ooze which coats the walls.
In the bedroom of the house, Dream and John find Rachel and the pouch. Rachel is near death and kept alive only through the magic of the sand. John convinces Dream to give her a peaceful end. As Dream departs, John asks a favor. He is haunted by nightmares of Newcastle. Morpheus grants John a boon by relieving him of the haunting dreams.
