Comments:
This issue does not feature an appearance by Hawkman and is the first JSA story without him making at least a cameo appearance. This was an inadvertant omission and a corrected version of the final panel featuring Hawkman was including in All-Star Squadron #54.
This story, which takes place in late March, 1942, is continued from All-Star Squadron #48.
Synopsis:
The Shining Knight defeats Dr. Fate, leaving him to be taken prisoner by Wotan. While Wotan sends his robotic knights against the British, Hourman revives from his plane crash and helps defend the troops.
Inside Wotan’s castle, Shining Knight is able to break Wotan’s hold over him. He then frees the captured heroes including Dr. Occult, the ghost detective, and defeats Wotan. Outside Hourman takes a second Miraclo pill to continue his battle with the robots, but he falls victim to a heart attack.
