Johnny protects a flying fort whose pilot has important information for the allied command. The fort's radio is out, so it must land to deliver the information. Johnny runs out of ammunition and must decide whether to ram the enemy fighters, saving the fort or save himself.
While pondering the decision, Johnny remembers a rookie pilot, Lt. Moon, who joined his squadron and was put in a similar situation. Lt. Moon successfully rammed the other fighters with his own, protecting the rest of the squad. Johnny follows Moon's example, destroying the enemy fighters. Unlike Moon, Johnny manages to bail out in time to parachute to safety.
