Synopsis:
The Soviets public announce the capture of Nemesis. Rick Flag wants to mount a rescue despite knowing that the Russians are trying to lure the rest of the Suicide Squad into a trap. Amanda Waller refuses to authorize the rescue mission, but Flag goes against orders and assembles a team. They depart from Belle Reve and head to Russia.
Batman hears the news about Nemesis. He wants to help since he has worked with Tresser before. He questions Rocket Red about his Soviet connections hoping to find a way to get Nemesis released. After Waller finds out that Flag has taken a team to Russia she gets the President to authorize JLI involvement. Batman and the other League members then head for the prison, allegedly to stop a group of American super-villains from attacking.
The Soviets are informed about the League being deployed. Their own super-heroes are then mobilized. The Rocket Red Brigade, Red Star, and the People's Heroes are all sent to the prison to stop the Suicide Squad.
