This story is continued from Adventures of Superman #467.

Synopsis:
Superman, Batman, and Gangbuster track down Chiller and Intergang who have kidnapped Cat Grant. Doctor Moon tries to alter her memories to prevent her testimony against Morgan Edge. The heroes stop Intergang and ensure Cat is safe to deliver the testimony which leads to Edge's conviction. After their failure, Intergang cuts their ties to Edge.

After the rescue Superman and Batman find the apartment of Amanda McCoy. Inside Batman discovers evidence that McCoy acquired which proves that Clark is Superman. She died before she could expose him. Batman reveals that he has the Kryptonite ring. He leaves it with Superman and returns to Gotham City.

Later, Superman visits the Batcave and gives the ring to Batman. He worries that someday he will be subverted by one of his enemies. He wants the means to stop himself in the hands of someone he trusts.
