Comments:
Beginning with this issue the page count of All-Star Comics was reduced due to the war effort. As a result Sandman and Dr. Fate have no solo chapters and are featured only in the group portion of the book.

The Monster is temporarily displaced in time by Per Degaton immediately prior to his death as chronicled in the flashback in All-Star Squadron #3. Following his defeat by Hawkman, Atom, and Dr. Mid-Nite in the second story of Justice League of America #193, Degaton’s time displacement wears off, returning the Monster to the exact moment he was removed from this story.

Synopsis:
The Justice Society is approached by Jason L. Rogers, an industrial magnate. Rogers has been plagued by a villain called the Monster. His problems began when his wife died while viewing a movie. The same movie has driven Rogers’ friends away, while the Monster has sabotaged his business and associates.

The JSA agrees to help and pursues clues that the Monster has left in Rogers’ house. Each JSAer tangles with the Monster, disrupting his activities, but each fails to capture him.

The team regroups to watch the movie that has plagued Rogers. The film is damaged and when Rogers tries to repair it, the Monster appears. They finally defeat the villain, discovering that he and Rogers share the same body with a Jeckyl-and-Hyde effect. Rogers dies, ending the threat of the Monster.
