Comments:
Wonder Woman joins the JSA in this story, although as told in All-Star Comics #12, her role is limited to secretary.

Spectre does not have his own chapter in this story. His chapter is taken by Wonder Woman. As revealed in All-Star Squadron #19 his appearance on pages 54-55 is only an image in the minds of the JSA.

At the conclusion of the story the Justice Society is renamed the Justice Battalion of America for the duration and reports directly to the War Department.

Pages 2 and 3 of this story were adapted for pages 1-4 of All-Star Squadron #5 and take place concurrently. A few months pass between pages 3 and 4 of this story.

As revealed in All-Star Squadron #19, which takes place concurrently, most of the events in this story did not take place. The JSAers individual adventures were thought-images created by the Brain Wave.

Synopsis:
Following the attack on Pearl Harbor, the JSA agrees to disband for the duration and join the military in their civilian identities. Each member excels at his assigned duties and begins fighting in the Pacific Theatre. However, individually each member dons his costume to help his unit, impressing War Department officials. Finally, at the request of those officials Johnny uses his Thunderbolt to summon the JSA, along with non-member Wonder Woman together again. They agree to continue fighting in their costumed identities as the newly christened Justice Battalion of America.
