Synopsis:
Sgt. Rock sends a small group ahead of Easy Company to locate enemy positions. A few men in the group return hours later after being ambushed by a German fighter. One soldier, Freddy Miller, was left behind to defend a mountain pass against an oncoming unit of enemy troops. When Rock and the rest of Easy reach the pass, they find that Miller has successfully beaten back the Germans with his life.

Later, Easy is set to take out a bridge with dynamite. An explosion causes Rock to be trapped with the dynamite on the bridge, while a unit of enemy tanks approaches. He orders his men away, then plans to hold off the tanks like Freddy Miller. A shot from one of the tanks knocks Rock into the river. When the tanks begin crossing the bridge, the dynamite destroys them. Rock swims to safety, having been blown free.
