Hugo King claims to have invented a helmet that allows him to never sleep. Roy Raymond tests the man by having him stay awake answering questions for a week. While King appears to be making good on his claim, his associates are selling the helmets to customers.
When customers begin reporting that their ideas have been stolen, Roy investigates. He questions King and finds that he is up to date on the latest news, despite still being locked in a room undergoing questions. Roy wears a helmet himself and falls victim to hypnotic truth gas. He is forced to appear before King's associates, but Roy overcomes them. Roy exposes the helmets as a fraud used to steal ideas from other men.
