Disgruntled office worker Lester Link decides to create some excitement in his life by inventing an underworld alias for himself. Calling himself the Lynx, Lester contacts Clark and Lois and takes credit for several major crimes. Superman discovers that the man is harmless, but the local gangsters are angry that someone else is taking credit for their work. The gang bosses track Link down and try to kill him. Superman arrives in time to rescue Link and arrest the gangsters. Superman covers for Link by explaining that his identity as the Lynx was only used to draw the real crooks from hiding.
