Synopsis:
Superman investigates trouble with the nation’s oil wells. He learns that Luthor is behind the crisis and saves some of the wells from destruction. Later, as Clark Kent, he and Lois are kidnapped by two of Luthor’s thugs because they have caused Luthor trouble in the past. Clark knocks Lois out, and then causes the thugs to drive off a cliff.
When Lois revives, they fly by plane to a glass-enclosed city which has risen from the ocean. The plane is attacked by a pterodactyl, killing the pilot and injuring Lois. Superman lands on the island and fights off another beast, while the injured Lois is captured by Luthor who controls the city.
With Lois’s safety in jeopardy, Superman is forced to cooperate with Luthor. He fights another beast, while Lois is taken to be killed. Superman overcomes his opponent, rescues Lois, and destroys the city. Luthor is apparently killed by his own creatures.
