Synopsis:
Arctic explorer Bob Walker is the only survivor from an expedition that met an unnatural wind on a glacier peak. After Walker tells his story to Doctor Fate, he is given a ring that will allow the sorcerer to monitor his next expedition.

Walker returns to the arctic and flies over the same route where he encountered the wind. His plane is attracted by strong magnetic forces. Doctor Fate sees the danger and comes to Walker's aid. He then discovers his old foes Wotan and Ian Karkull have joined forces.

Wotan had been buried deep inside the Earth, but he was able to mentally contact Karkull to rescue him. In turn, he was able to free Karkull who was trapped in shadow form. The villains take Inza as a hostage and force Doctor Fate to surrender. When Wotan tries to kill Walker and the other explorers, Fate takes action despite the risk to Inza. he is able to rescue the explorers and save his girlfriend. Wotan and Karkull are apparently killed when they are caught in a fire.
