Synopsis:
Despite the disappearance of his powers, Captain Atom intends to continue his role as a super-hero. He seeks out Batman for some training in non-powered combat. Batman allows Captain Atom to join him on patrol. They stop a gang of muggers and track down the Scarecrow. The latter has developed a new fear gas that makes its victims see such horrors that they commit suicide. When Captain Atom and Batman are exposed, they see a world destroyed by nuclear holocaust. However, they see through the vision and regain their senses. After delivering the Scarecrow back to Arkham Asylum, Batman gives Captain Atom a vote of confidence and offers to call Maxwell Lord to ensure that the Captain's place in the Justice League is secure.
