The Doll's House Part 5
This story takes place a few days after Sandman #12.
Philip Sitz impersonates the Bogeyman, a killer who died in Swamp Thing #44.
The guest of honor, the Family Man, does not show up for the convention. He was appearing in Hellblazer #24 to Hellblazer #30 at the time.
Synopsis:
A group of serial killers converge on a motel in a small Georgia town where they are holding a convention. Inside the hotel are Rose Walker and her companion Gilbert. They were on their way to find Rose's brother Jed, but when they called ahead the police answered the phone. Jed was missing, and the police asked Rose to remain at the motel where she could be reached if necessary.
Meanwhile at the convention, the guest of honor has not arrived. The convention organizer, Nimrod, asks the Corinthian to take his place. Elsewhere, Philip Sitz, a magazine publisher has gotten in to the convention by impersonating the killer known as the Bogeyman. He is found out. The Corinthian, Nimrod, and the Doctor kidnap Sitz. They take him outside of town and take turns torturing and killing him.
Back at the convention, Gilbert is scared because he saw the Corinthian. He gives Rose a piece of paper and instructions, then flees. When Rose is attacked by the serial killer known as Funland, she follows Gilbert's instruction and reads the name on the paper aloud, Morpheus. Dream appears and saves Rose. He then breaks up the convention after unmaking his rogue nightmare, the Corinthian.
Rose has left the motel after her encounter with Dream. As she regains her composure in the parking lot outside, Gilbert appears. He is carrying Jed's body which the Corinthian had stashed in the trunk of his car.
