Comments:
Wonder Woman temporarily loses her super-powers in this story, as do the other members, even though her powers are of magical, not scientific, origin. It is probable that her loss of powers is psychologically induced by the other members’ loss of powers and that, although she does not discover it in this story, she actually does not lose her powers at all. A similar instance takes place in Justice League of America #59.
Synopsis:
All scientific law on Earth ceases to function while, simultaneously, in Magic-Land, a parallel dimensional world, magic no longer works. Merlin the Magician discovers that the three sinister sorcerers, Simon Magus, Saturna, and the Troll King, are responsible for transposing Earth and Magic-Land between dimensions so that they can rule the latter world, being the only inhabitants with a knowledge of science.
Deprived of their science-based powers, the Justice League members resort to mysticism to call on Merlin for help. Regaining his magic abilities on Earth, Merlin sends the super-heroes to Magic-Land to defeat his enemies. J’onn J’onzz and Green Lantern take on a griffin and a manticore commanded by Saturna, while Flash and Wonder Woman battle the Troll King’s subjects, and Superman, Batman, and Aquaman capture Simon Magus.
Returning from Magic-Land, they rescue Snapper, who has accidentally changed himself into a monster with Merlin’s magic wand, and Merlin restores Earth and his own world to their proper dimensions.
