Synopsis:
Animal Man is hired by S.T.A.R. Labs to find out who demolished one of their animal research labs. Witnesses claim the a man-sized cockroach was responsible. Animal Man absorbs the power of a dog to allow him to track the creature into the city. Shortly after the trail disappears, Buddy is attacked by a man-sized rat. During the fight, Buddy's arm is ripped off from the shoulder. As he passes out from the loss of blood, Animal Man sees the creature undergo a transformation back into a human.
Elsewhere, Buddy's wife Ellen takes her daughter into the country where they encounter a group of hunters.
