Comments:
A new Firestorm is formed in this story. The new Firestorm is made up of Ronnie Raymond, Mikhail Arkadin, and Svarozhich. Martin Stein who had been a part of the Firestorm persona as a mind suffering from amnesia is removed for the first time. This new Firestorm takes the form of an elemental and is no longer able to separate into its component parts.
This story is continued from Firestorm the Nuclear Man #84.
Synopsis:
While Ronnie Raymond tells his new Russian friends the story of his beginnings as Firestorm, Svarozhich travels the world. The entity which has taken possession of Firestorm's powers passes judgment on the world and decides to cleanse it with fire. Ronnie completes his tale and is told by Rasputin that Firestorm was intended to be a fire elemental. The elemental was supposed to be Martin Stein, but Ronnie's presence prevented it from taking its intended form.
Ronnie and Mikhail then seek to take back the Firestorm form from Svarozhich. With the aid of Serafina and Dmitri, they succeed in reforming Firestorm. Even so, they are at a stalemate with Svarozhich. Finally, Ronnie and Mikhail agree to sacrifice themselves to the Firestorm entity which then fuses with Svarozhich to form a new elemental Firestorm.
The new Firestorm then heals the children of Mikhail Arkadin to honor the memory of one of his former selves.
