Comments:
This story reintroduces Lady Quark and Pariah into the Post-Crisis universe. Lady Quark's history is altered such that, in post-Crisis continuity, she was the ruler of an alien world destroyed by a contraterrene wave rather than a parallel world destroyed by an anti-matter wave.
Synopsis:
After learning about Starman during the Invasion aftermath, Lady Quark comes to Arizona. She seeks to make Starman her consort and co-ruler of the Earth. After appearing on a local morning show in hopes of attracting Starman's attention, Lady Quark starts a hillside fire. The blaze accomplishes her goal when Starman shows up to investigate.
After Lady Quark states her intentions, Starman declines her offer. He then rescues a man from a dangerous fall and stops an armed robbery. Lady Quark follows and presses the issue. Ultimately, Starman stands by his refusal which Lady Quark interprets as weakness. She flies off in search of a stronger mate.
