Comments:
This issue is the first appearance of the post-Crisis Green Lantern Corps. Though their adventures appear to be a direct continuation from previous issues, the post-Crisis Green Lantern Corps are considered to be entirely independent from their Earth-1 counterparts.
This issue is labeled: "Legends Cross-Over Chapter 3".
This issue also contains a brief flashback depicting Guy while he was comatose. Hal Jordan and Kari Limbo also appear in the flashback.
Synopsis:
Kilowog is interviewed for the nightly news. As a result of a recent battle with the Black Hand, the alien Green Lanterns have proven themselves to a suspicous human population. While leaving the studio, the Green Lanterns are attacked by Guy Gardner who has escaped from Maltus. Guy demands to be put in charge of the team, but a fight ensues. Guy holds his own, then escapes.
The Green Lanterns split up to track Guy. Hal, Arisia, and Kilowog return to their citadel where Guy's ex-girlfriend Kari Limbo is waiting. Kari tells them where to find Guy. Appa Ali Apsa and his honor guard find Guy first and defeat him.
When Hal and the others arrive, Hal convinces Appa to allow Guy his freedom on Earth, hoping that the rogue GL will be able to find stability in familiar surroundings. Appa agrees, and Guy is allowed to leave.
Kilowog is unhappy with the decision and with Earth behavior which makes him the target for recruitment by a Russian agent.
