Comments:
This story features an appearance by the Monitor. It is the first time in the history of this series in which the Warlord's adventures have been linked to the DC universe. Series creator Mike Grell was against including Warlord in the main DC universe based on responses in the letter columns. However, this issue does establish the Warlord as a character in the multiverse. His eventually participation in Crisis on Infinite Earths will cement the fact that Skartaris is located on Earth-1.
Synopsis:
The Warlord is troubled. He recent action have brought hope and inspiration to an oppressed people, but he wants to reject the responsibility that goes with helping them. As his inner struggle continues, he and Tara head for an ancient temple where Morgan once discovered a stockpile of treasure. When they get there, they find a demon. It was released when Morgan first found the temple and has been terrorizing villagers ever since. Morgan and Tara enter the temple and find a way to trap the demon once more.
Meanwhile in a satellite in orbit, the Warlord is observed by a mysterious individual who request more information from his assistant, Lyla.
