Comments:
This story retells the origin of the Warlord.
Synopsis:
The Warlord and his companions make their way to the Valley of the Lion where the refugees from Shamballah have settled. On the way Morgan encounters a bridge troll which reminds him of a bully he fought in junior high school named Danny Maddox. In the refugee camp, Jennifer Morgan is also lost in thought concerning the past. Specifically, the death of her mother Rachel.
The Warlord is observed from a satellite in orbit by the Monitor who reviews how Travis Morgan found his way to Skartaris. Eventually Morgan, Tara and the others arrive in camp. Tara sees the young boy Tinder admiring her armband. The watch belonged to Tinder, because he is her son. She doesn't know this, but the sight of the boy brings back memories of the past for her also. When she shakes off the daydream, Tinder has vanished.
